ABOUT CYSA STATE CUP

CYSA State Cup is an open competition for any boys' and girls' Division 1, 3 or 4 team.  This is the highest degree of state-level competition offered and is the only CYSA Cup available for the Division 1 teams to enter if they had advanced to quarter-finals in the previous year of State Cup.  Additionally, some of the strongest Division 3 teams opt to test their skills in CYSA State Cup.  Although it is rare, a Division 4 team can choose to participate in State Cup.  This Cup is the approved state qualifier for the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series.  CYSA State Cup begins with a weekend of preliminary rounds for each of the teams.  After several more weekends of single elimination rounds, the competition culminates with the annual State Cup Championships where the Division 1 state champions are crowned.  Winners of the U-12 through U-19 CYSA State Cup competitions go on to represent CYSA in the US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships (Far West Regionals).  Winners of U-14 through U-19 Regional Championships advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championships.  CYSA State Cup takes place in mid-winter for the U-12 through U-13 teams and begin in early spring for the U-14 through U-19 age groups.  Participating teams may be subject to travel over long distances and rescheduling of games due to adverse weather conditions.  Teams should take these factors into consideration before applying.

Teams can qualify for the Early Bird Entry fee if they submit a complete application by 5 PM October 15, 2010.  The application deadline for CYSA State Cup is 5:00 PM November 1, 2010.  Teams that miss the application deadline may be eligible to enter the Reserve Pool.  More details can be found in the RULES section of the State Cup page.

When ordering Cup apparel, please note the following:

• All sales are final.

• Apparel can not be exchanged, so be sure you order the correct size.

• All orders will be shipped directly by the vendor and are not available for pick up.

• Apparel items are available for a limited time.

Applications Received 

The E7 list is updated in "real time" and the teams are listed by age group/gender, then by date application received.

Applications are included in the list at the time they are entered.  Please continue to check for any status updates. E-mailed/faxed documents will be reviewed by staff at their earliest opportunity and the application status will be updated to indicate the current status.

Accepted = Team has met all requirements and is accepted to the Cup indicated

Paid/Payment Received = Team has submitted and entry form and paid applicable fees but must still submit a copy of the team's goldenrod roster bearing the District Registrars stamp.

Not Paid = Team has completed an online entry form but must still submit a copy of the team's goldenrod roster bearing the District Registrars stamp and applicable fees. 

NOTE:  Early Bird fees expires at 5:00 PM on October 15, 2010 at which fees will increase (with the exception of Founders' Cup applications)

All components of the Cup Applications must be received by 5:00 PM November 2, 2009 in order to be eligible for Cup (Founders' Cup U16-U19 deadline is 5:00 PM January 3, 2011.)

Sideline Behavior Section 3:08:03

Teams participating in CYSA Cup events are advised that due to an increasing number of complaints and incidents regarding inappropriate behavior on the sidelines at soccer matches, the CYSA Board of Directors has instructed the referees to remind each team of section 3:08:03 of the CYSA General Procedures and to inform the team officials during their pre-game instructions to the teams that it is CYSA's intent to enforce this policy.  All spectators should be advised accordingly as it is the coach who is ultimately held accountable for the behavior of the spectators associated with his or her team.  Please help us enhance everyone's enjoyment of the game by reminding your team members and spectators of their obligation to abide by this procedure.

3:08:03 Coaching from the sidelines, giving direction to one's own team on points of strategy and position, is permitted provided:

1. No mechanical devices are used.
2. The tone of voice is informative and not a harangue.
3. No coach, substitute, player, or spectator is to be anywhere but at his/her bench area during the game. A team's bench area shall be that area one (1) yard from the touchline and extending to ten (10) yards, one way, from the half-line only.
4. No coach, substitute, player or spectator is to make derogatory remarks or gestures to the referees, other players, substitutes, or spectators.
5. No coach, substitute, or player is to use profanity.
6. No coach, substitute, player, or spectator is to incite, in any manner, disruptive behavior of any kind.

The penalty for the above shall be ejection from the game and disciplinary action will be taken by the Board of Directors of this Association.

Schedules and Scores

The locations of CYSA cup games will be determined after the committees meet to draw the cup brackets and plan the scheduling.  Game locations will be posted as soon as venues can be confirmed. Game schedules will be posted no later than 3 weeks prior to the start of the cup.  The CYSA office will post the information as soon as we receive the approved schedule. Thanks for your patience in waiting for the venue and schedule information to be released.
