APPLICATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR THE RESERVE POOL

STATE CUP RESERVE POOL RULES

Teams that complete an application after 5:00 PM November 2, 2009 are not guaranteed the opportunity to play.  They must pay an entry fee of $675.00 by credit card, certified check, money order, or bank cashiers check.  Any team that enters after the November 2nd application period and meets all other entrance requirements will be placed in the “Reserve Pool”. U10-U13 State Cup Reserve Pool Applications will be accepted until 5PM November 9, 2009.  U14-U19 State Cup Reserve Pool Applications will be accepted until 5PM January 4, 2010.

The CYSA State Cup Committee may blind draw additional teams from the “Reserve Pool” of teams in a particular division to make that division divisible by four (4) prior to the draw.  The CYSA State Cup Committee will only draw enough teams to get to the first number of teams divisible by four (4) above the number of teams that have entered CYSA State Cup in the specific age/gender division of play at the time of the CYSA State Cup Deadline for Entry that does not include any “late fee” penalty.  The CYSA State Cup Committee cannot draw any more than a maximum of three (3) teams to attain a division of play that is divisible by four (4). The deadline to adjust and add teams to flights divisible by four (4) shall be at 5:00 p.m. on the Monday preceding the DRAW for each age/gender division of play.  Anytime that a team is needed to “fill” a flight in CYSA State Cup play, a team in the “Reserve Pool” in the proper age/gender group shall be blind drawn from the “Pool.”

The CYSA State Cup Committee may draw from the “Pool” if a team drops from CYSA State Cup play in the team’s proper age/gender division.

Any team not blind drawn from the “Reserve Pool” when play commences shall have $575.00 of its entry fee returned to the team within thirty (30) days from the first day of play in the team’s age/gender division. The $75.00 that will be retained by CYSA is an “administrative late fee.”

ABOUT CYSA STATE CUP

CYSA State Cup is an open competition for any boys' and girls' Division 1, 3 or 4 team.  This is the highest degree of state-level competition offered and is the only CYSA Cup available for the Division 1 teams to enter.  Additionally, some of the strongest Division 3 teams opt to test their skills in CYSA State Cup.  Although it is rare, a Division 4 team can choose to participate in State Cup.  This Cup is the approved state qualifier for the US Youth Soccer National Championship SeriesCYSA State Cup begins with a weekend of preliminary rounds for each of the teams.  After several more weekends of single elimination rounds, the competition culminates with the annual State Cup Championships where the Division 1 state champions are crowned.  Winners of the U-12 through U-19 CYSA State Cup competitions go on to represent CYSA in the US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships (Far West Regionals).  Winners of U-14 through U-19 Regional Championships advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championships.  CYSA State Cup takes place in mid-winter for the U-10 through U-13 teams and begin in early spring for the U-14 through U-19 age groups.  Participating teams may be subject to travel over long distances and rescheduling of games due to adverse weather conditions.  Teams should take these factors into consideration before applying.  Teams can qualify for the Early Bird Entry fee if they submit a complete application by 5 PM October 15, 2009.  The application deadline for CYSA State Cup is 5:00 PM November 2, 2009.  Teams that miss the application deadline may be eligible to enter the Reserve Pool.  More details can be found in the RULES section of the State Cup page.
