Notification Protocol for CYSA Teams Traveling to US Youth Soccer Region IV State Association Sanctioned Tournaments

The fourteen US Youth Soccer Region IV State Associations, including California Youth Soccer Association, Inc. (CYSA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will permit CYSA teams to travel to tournaments sanctioned by any US Youth Soccer Region IV State Association without having to submit an Application to Travel to CYSA and without providing an Application to Travel to the sanctioned tournament at check in.

Such permission will be in effect for tournaments that are sanctioned by a US Youth Soccer Region IV State Association provided that every team member and guest player associated with the team traveling is in good standing with CYSA and that the team participates in the tournament with team and player credentials for each player, guest player and registered team official as required by CYSA and approved by their CYSA District Registrar.

To comply with the CYSA notification protocol a CYSA team traveling to a tournament sanctioned by one of the US Youth Soccer Region IV State Associations must notify CYSA of its intention to travel at least one business day prior to the beginning date of the travel to the tournament.

Notification will consist of submitting a CYSA Notification to Travel to a US Youth Soccer Region IV State Association Sanctioned Tournament Form to the CYSA Office. The form must include:

  1. the team name
  2. the team's DLCT number
  3. the name of the tournament to which the team is traveling
  4. the dates of the tournament
  5. the name of the state association that sanctioned the tournament
  6. the name and CYSA ID numbers of any guest players
  7. the name, email address and phone of the registered team official completing the form.

A team's failure to properly notify CYSA at least one business day prior to traveling, in accordance with the established protocol, could delay and/or invalidate payment on any insurance claims for the player and/or team arising from participation in the tournament games to which the team traveled.

The notification form must be sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Once the CYSA Office staff receives the completed notification form and can verify that the team and guest players have been approved in the CYSA registration database by their District Registrar, confirmation of the notification will be returned to the team to retain for their records.
