It is now the CYSA Founders’ Cup.

Why the Name Change from “American Cup” to “CYSA Founders’ Cup”???

Many people have asked why CYSA changed the name of the existing Cup for Division 4 teams form American Cup to CYSA Founders’ Cup. The “American Cup” name is owned by US Youth Soccer which is now in the contractual agreement with Kohl’s Department Stores to co-host this event. Hosting the US Youth Soccer/Kohl’s American Cup event at the State Association level would require CYSA to adhere to certain stipulations and procedures that we do not wish to incorporate into our event. CYSA prefers to continue hosting the state championship event in a format of our choosing at this time. By opting to host an event of our own for the CYSA Division 4 teams, our Board considered several different possibilities for the event name. As a way of recognizing the individuals who were so instrumental in the development of youth soccer in California, they selected the name CYSA Founders’ Cup.

IF YOU WISH TO CONFIRM RECEIPT OF YOUR CUP REGISTRATION PAPERWORK, PLEASE SUBMIT IT VIA A TRACKABLE METHOD. WE ARE UNABLE TO CONFIRM RECEIPT OF YOUR PAPERWORK OVER THE PHONE OR BY EMAIL.

TEAMS REGISTERING FOR CYSA CUPS ON LINE CAN SUBMIT THEIR SUPPLEMENTAL DOCUMENTS INCLUDING THE REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION AND A COPY OF THE OFFICIAL CYSA TEAM ROSTER (“GOLDENROD”) TO THE CYSA OFFICE BY SCANNING & EMAILING TO kkillion@cysanorth.org OR VIA FAX AT (925) 426-9473.

IF YOU ARE PAYING BY CHECK, SUBMIT THE PAYMENT AND SUPPLEMENTAL DOCUMENTS TO THE CYSA OFFICE AT 1040 SERPENTINE LANE, SUITE 201, PLEASANTON, CA 94566

THE LOCATIONS OF CYSA CUP GAMES WILL BE DETERMINED AFTER THE COMMITTEES MEET TO DRAW THE CUP BRACKETS AND PLAN THE SCHEDULING. GAME LOCATIONS WILL BE POSTED AS SOON AS VENUES CAN BE CONFIRMED. GAME SCHEDULES WILL BE POSTED NO LATER THAN 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE CUP. THE CYSA OFFICE WILL POST THE INFORMATION AS SOON AS WE RECEIVE THE APPROVED SCHEDULE.
